TLC for Children and Families, Inc
.
Temporary Lodging for Children's mission is to provide shelter and social services to children and youth experiencing abuse, neglect or family disruption.  JCYM founded TLC in 1972 and has continued as a major supporter of the shelter homes for over 30 years. In addition to supporting fund raising efforts, JCYM members contribute items to TLC and staff events which emphasize a "home life" atmosphere with special attention to the holiday seasons.

Community Disability Network
The CDN provides advocacy, education and support that enables persons with disabilities to become responsible, equal, and self determining citizens.  JCYM volunteers staff the annual Toy Garage Sale, participate in the Kids on the Block disability awareness program for elementary school children and maintain and staff the CDN Toy Library.

Headstart of Shawnee Mission
Headstart's mission is to empower low-income children and families to step up to success by providing early childhood education and comprehensive child and family services.  JCYM volunteers assist Headstart by planning special events for children and their parents, staffing those events and helping collect supplies for back to school backpacks.

Johnson County Christmas Bureau
The Christmas Bureau is a coordinating non-profit agency for holiday assistance to low-income families of Johnson County. Food, clothing, toys, gifts, baby, and personal care items are made available for clients to select at the annual shop held in December.  JCYM volunteers help arrange merchandise, assist clients in selections, and collect donations of new items to be given to the shop.

Johnson County Nursing Center
Johnson County Nursing Center provides long term care for indigent, frail and elderly citizens. This 118-bed skilled nursing facility includes a special care unit for residents with dementia and specialized services for the deaf.  JCYM volunteers provide companionship for residents and contribute items to make the residents more comfortable.

Safehome
SAFEHOME, Inc. seeks to break the cycle of sexual and domestic violence and abuse. This is Johnson County's only shelter for victims of domestic violence serving women and children from throughout the metro area.  JCYM volunteers assist with ongoing and special projects by working on committees and providing donations. Trained volunteers assist the shelter as needed.

Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site
The Shawnee Indian Mission provides and supports preservation and interpretation of this State Historic Site. The Mission educates the public by providing historical, cultural and recreational experiences.  JCYM volunteers assist in developing programs and provide trained staff for special events such as the Fall Festival, the Christmas Open House and Theme Days. JCYM also provides Docent programs.
